On June 11, 2020 Herman was called to heaven and eternal peace. He was born March 2, 1947.
Preceded in death by his mother Eunice Pearson Allen. Survived by daughters, Carmen, Selina, Nicole and Quaticia; sons: Jermaine and Robert; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews. Special friends John Hall and Brenda Hollman.
Herman enjoyed watching all sports after retiring from playing football. He coached briefly at Bishop College in Dallas, TX while also working for the State Department of Labor. He returned home to care for his ill mother. He enjoyed teaching Black Studies at UNO and MCC College, where he also workind in Student Retention Services. Herman consistently read and frequented many libraries. He enjoyed documentaries of historical content. But many of us will not forget his days of DJ’ing and promotions of talent acts and events known to many as “Pappa Gator the Soul Regulator”. He worked for radio stations KBWH & KOWH here in Omaha. We all remember his slogan “Everything is Copacetic”. Rest in Peace
