Obituary
James Xerxes Pierce was born September 11, 1928 to Major and Katie (Ford) Pierce in Cecil, Alabama. James grew up in Alabama and was raised with several siblings, A.C., D.C., Walter, Samuel, Eugene, Bob, Johnny, Arthur, Mattie, Mary, Roosevelt, Naomi, and Freddie.
James chose to serve in the United States Air Force from 1949-1955 and later settled in Omaha, NE where he was an auto mechanic business owner for many years. He lived a full life of 91 years and was cared for by his grandson, Christopher (Mooki) Pierce during the final season of his life.
James is preceded in death by Ruby Myrle Williams (wife) and Michael Leroy (Shawn) Pierce (son) and several siblings. However, he leaves a host of family members to celebrate his homegoing. He is survived by his children Christopher Dmitri Pierce (Ora Lee), Susan Camille Pierce, Tanya Lynn Pierce, Katherine Ann Lehning (Alex), Morehei Kareem Pierce, Naktangi Pierce; siblings Walter Pierce (Montgomery, AL), Eugene Pierce (Lawrenceville, GA), Johnny Pierce (New York, NY), Arthur Pierce (Detroit, MI), Mattie Denise Leonard (Detroit, MI), Mary Luther Lockhart (Queens, NY), Freddie Pierce (Montgomery, AL); in-laws Polly Jones, Michael Quentin Williams, Elroy Williams, Marla Wynn-Pierce, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends.
