Jeffire (Jeff) Elmore

A true pillar in the family, standing at 6 feet 6 inches tall, (well…6 feet 6 and 3 quarter inches as he would say to correct you), Jeff’s personality was larger than life much like his stature. He was a clever jokester with a wonderful sense of humor and a bright smile to match. His curious and inquisitive nature drove all his pursuits (he was a gifted artist and immersed himself into investments and stocks in recent years). None of that, however, rivaled that of his first passion…Basketball. Incredibly disciplined and strong-willed, Jeff became a well-known, decorated athlete breaking records and showcasing electrifying skill for those who watched him on the court. His accomplishments led him to be named a “Most Valuable Player”, chosen for the Class A - All State Team, and voted “King of Sports” by his beloved Benson High Peers. Committed as a student-athlete, Jeff went on to play next level ball finishing his collegiate career at Division 1 school, Loyola University in Chicago and garnering interest from the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics where he played with Hall of Famer, Larry Bird.  

Jeff was brave, loyal, and kind and will forever be remembered for his enormous heart. He is now sharing his love and laughter with those who were waiting to be reunited with him (Mom, 2 sisters, 1 brother). He leaves behind: Sisters; Essie, Audrey, and Tamelia, Brother, Kernell; Uncle Ernest Brown, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
